"Orc Armor" Belt Piece
2004
PVC, styrene, cast urethane, metal spikes, leather belt
Wearable piece of armor created as an element of an "Orc" costume. I created this set of armor pieces mainly as a challenge to myself to test a theory that I could cut and heat-bend ordinary PVC pipes into complex shapes on which to build detailed pieces of armor. The project was overwhelmingly successful, and the process proved to be one that I would experiment with and use much more in later work (see Goat's Head Mask, Armored Glove Prop, The Turk Glove, etc.)
